Truck in Thailand runs SUV off road, chain collision ends up putting lorry on its side

Truck in Thailand causes chain collision, resulting in lorry flipping on its side

A man in Thailand is seeking out a truck driver after he ran an SUV off the road, causing a chain collision that flipped a lorry on its side.

The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. According to Thairath, there were a total of three people injured in the crash.

Truck causes SUV to lose control

On 22 March, clips of the accident were shared on Facebook. Although incorrectly dated, the footage shows a white pickup truck merging into the right lane and bumping a dark-coloured SUV.

This caused the SUV to lose control, veering sharply to the left. The SUV collided with a white lorry two lanes over to the left before spinning off the road.

Due to the SUV impacting the lorry’s rear right wheels, the vehicle tipped over and slid across all three lanes of traffic before ending up halfway off the road in the rightmost lane.

Based on the footage, neither the lorry nor the SUV came into contact with other vehicles during the incident.

In an interview with Thairath, he said that three people were injured in the crash, with most of the injuries on their arms and chest.

He also added that the SUV’s insurance provider refused to cover damages to the lorry.

They determined that the cause of the accident was the white truck.

The driver said his vehicle suffered extensive damage that will “probably cost upwards of ฿100,000 baht (THB) (S$3,900)”.
