Traffic flow is expected to be especially heavy on 21-22 Dec, which ICA describes as “one of the busiest weekends at the land checkpoints”.

In view of this, they are urging members of the public travelling across the Causeway to expect delays and make adjustments to their travel plans if necessary.

Ensure that passports have remaining validity of at least 6 months

To not exacerbate the delay, travellers should also ensure that their passports have a remaining validity of at least 6 months.

Additionally, travellers should also be mindful not to bring in prohibited and controlled items, such as firecrackers, chewing gum, eggs, and other meat products.

Finally, motorists are encouraged to drive safely and should maintain lane discipline at all times.

Here are other tips that ICA has issued for a smoother journey across the Causeway.

Delay non-essential trips across the Tuas & Woodlands Checkpoint

If you happen to be travelling across the Causeway anytime from now till 1 Jan 2020, be prepared for slow-moving traffic and delays.

Given the slow traffic, perhaps it’s wiser to delay any non-essential trips across both land checkpoints until after this hectic period.
