Uber launches UberLIONDANCE for the Lunar New Year

The American ride request company has launched a new service for its Singaporean users.

Using the Uber app, Singaporeans are now able to request lion dance performances from troupes nearby during the Chinese New Year period.

How do you do that?

According to a statement written on the company’s online newsroom, the service will only be offered on 3 Feb, between 10am to 5pm.

Download and open the Uber app within that time period. There will be a new “Lion Dance” icon in the app.

Move the slider towards the icon, and voilà, you have requested your very first UberLIONDANCE.

The Lion Dance troupe nearest to you will be wherever you are within minutes.

The fine print

The service costs $158, and the amount will be charged directly to the user’s Uber account. This is an increase from $88 last year.

Uber is expecting a huge demand for UberLIONDANCE, so booking a performance successfully might take a few tries.

The company also recommends that you check with your building management if you are booking a performance at your workplace.

More to come?

We wonder what Uber will come up with next.

Can you request for a bae this Valentine’s Day?
