Ordinary people would lose their wits if a car ran over their foot.
But a Urijah Faber didn’t.
In fact, Faber, a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Hall of Fame, kept so cool that he even managed to remove his shirt to show off his hot bod.
The former UFC fighter and World Extreme Cage-fighting (WEC) featherweight champion arrived in Singapore to support fellow UFC teammate Teruto Ishihara.
Ishihara will be fighting at UFC Fight Night 132 t obe held on Saturday (23 Jun).
Faber won’t be fighting, since he retired in 2016, after 13 years in the game.
But within the first day of his arrival in Singapore Faber had his right foot run over by a car.
Instead of sobbing, he made light of the incident, calling the “ba-donk” on his foot a “warm welcome to Singapore”.
And with a charismatic wink, he labelled himself a “survivor”.
In an interview later that day, Mr Faber said he “was in pain”.
But he was also well enough to joke that the driver looked like “Singapore’s Bob Marley”.

He hinted that he almost lost it at first, but quickly regained his bearings.
I got ran by a car, my foot got ran over by a car, then I hit the car, and then I almost beat up Asian Bob Marley, and then I calmed down, and I saved the day by not sending these guys to jail.
Not making a fuss was really an act of goodwill from him, because he seemed to harbour the stereotype Singapore has very many stringent laws in place.
I mean, its universal that you’re not supposed to hit pedestrians. And in Singapore, you can’t spit, you can’t chew gum, like these guys will get into big trouble.
Nevertheless, he acknowledged that upon further reflection, he felt that the accident wasn’t exactly the driver’s fault.
How many times [have] you been told to look both ways before you step [onto] the street…then I realised that I’m the idiot that stepped on the street in a foreign country where the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the road.
Mr Faber also said,
My foot’s extremely bruised and that’s it, no broken bones.
His nails look ghastly pale from the experience, they look like they could do with seeing a pedicurist, not just a ghost.
If anyone has a good pedicurist to recommend, please do so in the comments below.
