S’pore HDB households to receive S$300 vouchers for energy- & water-saving appliances

HDB Households to get S$300 vouchers from 15 Apr to buy energy- & water-saving appliances

Starting 15 Apr, all HDB households in Singapore will receive S$300 worth of vouchers to purchase energy- and water-saving appliances.

1.1 million households are expected to benefit from the vouchers, which will be valid until 2027.

Through adopting efficient appliances and fittings, households can reduce their energy and water bills, and contribute to slowing down climate change.

HDB households can purchase 10 types of energy- and water-efficient appliances with Climate Vouchers

The enhanced Climate Friendly Households Programme (CFHP) was announced by Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor on Monday (4 Mar).

This programme aims to enable households to be more efficient in their use of energy and water.

As part of the enhancements, all HDB households will receive $300 worth of Climate Vouchers from 15 Apr.

With these vouchers, Singaporeans or Permanent Residents (PR) can purchase 10 types of energy- and water-efficient household products.

Eligible products include:

  • 3- or 4-tick refrigerators
  • 3-tick shower fittings
  • 2-tick and above LED lights*
  • 5-tick air-conditioners
  • 3-tick basin taps and mixers
  • 3-tick sink/bib taps and mixers
  • 3-tick water closets
  • 4-tick washing machines
  • Direct current fans
  • Heat pump water heaters

“By switching to more efficient appliances and fittings, households can reduce their energy and/or water consumption, lower their utility bills, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and play their part in slowing down climate change,” the agencies said.

According to Channel NewsAsia (CNA), 1.1 million HDB households will receive the e-vouchers.

 

Can be redeemed through RedeemSG portal using Singpass

Come 15 Apr, households can claim their Climate Vouchers by logging in to the RedeemSG portal using their Singpass accounts.

After redemption, they can then present the voucher and proof of address at participating retail outlets. Valid proof of address include:

  • Bank statements
  • Utility bills
  • Singpass mobile application
  • NRIC

The vouchers will be valid from 15 Apr 2024 to 31 Dec 2027.
