A woman was seriously injured after being crushed by logs from an overturned lorry in Gua Musang, Malaysia on Tuesday (9 July).
21-year-old Siti Norelyana Kamaruzan was at a red light on her motorcycle when she was thrown off by falling logs.
According to Sinar Daily, the woman sustained internal injuries and is currently in an unstable condition.
Ms Kamaruzan was at a red light on her motorcycle at 11.23am on 9 July when a lorry carrying logs overturned at the Bendahara Intersection of Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai.
Based on a dashcam video of the incident, she was thrown off by the falling logs, causing her to be trapped between the logs and a nearby pickup truck.
Passersby then helped move the truck before an ambulance took her to the hospital, reported Harian Metro.
According to the victim’s fiancé, Nik Amnan Arif Nik Anuwar, Ms Kamaruzan is currently being treated at Gua Musang Hospital.
It is believed that she sustained internal injuries from the incident.
“The doctor said my fiancee’s condition is now not stable,” Mr Anuwar told reporters at the hospital, wrote Sinar Daily.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the trailer’s ‘turn-table’ broke while making a turn, causing the vehicle’s tail to overturn, reported Sinar Harian.
According to Gua Musang District Police Chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, the falling logs also hit a Toyota Vios.
Fortunately, both the 58-year-old trailer driver and the car driver were uninjured.
