A 30-year-old woman has been found dead in a flat along Dover Road, days after a similar incident in Ang Mo Kio.
The incident took place on Monday (2 Dec) afternoon at Block 1 Dover Road, reported Lianhe Zaobao.
A Zaobao reader alerted the paper to the presence of many police officers at the location.
Part of the corridor was also cordoned off.
A 10th-floor resident named only as Ms Zhang (transliterated from Mandarin) said when she came home from work at about 6pm, she saw three police cars parked next to the block.
She later heard that the police were conducting an investigation at the 11th floor.
A male resident on the 10th floor who declined to be named told Zaobao that many of the units in the block had been rented out.
This included the flat where the deceased was found, which had also been sublet to others.
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received a call for assistance at about 5.10pm on Monday.
The location was a residential unit along Dover Road.
When officers arrived, a 30-year-old woman was found lying motionless inside the unit.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
According to SPF’s preliminary investigations, a 34-year-old man is believed to be able to assist with investigations.
However, he had left Singapore before the police were called.
He and the deceased are “known to each other”, SPF said.
Further investigations by the police are ongoing.
Last Friday (29 Nov), a 67-year-old woman was found dead in her Ang Mo Kio HDB flat.
The police arrested a 66-year-old allegedly homeless male suspect whom the victim took in.
Both of them often got into fights over money and alcohol, a friend of the deceased reportedly said.
