Earlier this week, a 71-year-old woman fell from the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI), which is next to Paya Lebar Road.
She died as a result of the fall, which took place on Wednesday (4 Dec).
An eyewitness told citizen journalism site STOMP that the woman had fallen from the fourth storey of the building, which is a campus for adult learning built by SkillsFuture Singapore.
She was lying motionless in a pool of blood and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was being performed on her.
The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted and LLI is assisting in police investigations, the institute was quoted as saying.
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received a call for assistance at about 10.35am on 4 Dec.
The location was 11 Eunos Road 8 — the address of LLI.
A 71-year-old woman was taken to hospital from there in an unconscious state, SPF added.
SCDF, which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that she was conveyed to Changi General Hospital. She subsequently passed away there.
No foul play is suspected based on SPF’s preliminary investigations.
Further investigations are ongoing.
Helplines are available for those struggling with mental health issues.
