Woman Who Shouted At KFC NEX Staff Faces Up To 6 Months’ Jail & $5,000 Fine For Harassment

Woman Faces 6 Months’ Jail For Harassing KFC Staff

In April, we wrote about a viral video showing a woman shouting at, and spitting on a KFC staff member at NEX.

KFC lodged a police report against her, and shortly after, she was arrested.

Shouted at & spat on KFC NEX staff

On 22 Apr, the woman allegedly shouted at and spat on the KFC NEX staff for delays in their service.

Bystanders took a video of her in the midst of it all, and the clip garnered over 8,600 shares on Facebook, wrote Yahoo! News.

KFC promptly lodged a police report against her on the same day (22 Apr) , and she was arrested soon after by the Ang Mo Kio police division on 24 Apr, shared TODAY.

Faces 3 charges, due in court again on 1 Jul

The 42-year old woman will be charged in court today (10 Apr) for intentional harassment, the use of criminal force and breaching Covid-19 safe distancing measures, reported Channel NewsAsia (CNA).

Be patient with staff & others

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) urges Singaporeans to be responsible for their behaviour in public, and be patient with service staff, who may struggle during busy hours, reports TODAY.

Singaporeans should also observe good personal hygiene, especially now that we’re in Phase 1 of reopening the economy.

Don’t take out your frustrations on service staff

Life is frustrating, now more than ever, but that doesn’t mean that we can vent our frustrations on others.

Service staff, especially, are working harder than ever to keep daily activities or transactions running and make our lives easier, so we should be more grateful for them.

Next time you’re out buying food or groceries, remember to thank the staff around you and show them you care — a little encouragement goes a long way to lift others’ spirits.
