Woman vomits & urinates in private hire car in Thailand, offers only S$40 compensation

Woman in Thailand vomits & pees in ride, offers driver only S$40

A private hire driver in Thailand sought help online after a passenger vomited and urinated in his car during a ride, but only offered him a mere 1,000 baht (S$40) to cover the mess.

In a Facebook post on 21 May, the driver shared that when he asked for 1,500 baht (S$60) to clean his vehicle, the woman refused and told him to go ahead and file a police report if he wasn’t satisfied.

She allegedly warned that if he did, she would retaliate by filing a complaint of her own, calling on police to check his driving licence, car insurance, and whether his vehicle taxes were up to date.

According to Channel 7 News, the incident occurred on 21 May in Nakhon Ratchasima.

After failing to resolve the matter on their own, both parties ended up at the police station, but were unable to reach a settlement.

Women had too much fun on their night out

In the early hours of Wednesday (21 May), the private hire driver was assigned to pick up three women from an entertainment venue at around 1am.

According to MGR Online, the 26-year-old was to drive them to a nearby hotel.

Unfortunately, one of the women had had too much to drink and ended up not only relieving herself in the vehicle, but also vomiting across the backseat.

A strong odour soon filled the car, prompting him to pull over and ask if any of them had thrown up.

They initially denied it, but the truth became clear when he opened the back door and discovered the mess.

The women then apologised and offered him 500 baht (S$20) to cover the clean-up.

Police get involved

The driver refused the small offer, prompting the women to call the police to settle the dispute.

He requested 1,500 baht for cleaning costs, but the women insisted on paying no more than 1,000 baht.

At the police station, the three women claimed to be owners of a carwash shop.

They insisted that the mess they made would only cost him the amount they were offering.

In the Facebook post he made asking for advice, the driver said they told him if he wanted any more money from them, he would have to file a police report and sue them for it.

However, they also warned him that they had a personal lawyer.

If the driver took legal action, they would make sure his driving credentials and taxes got thoroughly investigated.

Refuses to take down Facebook post

The two parties parted ways without settling the matter.

Since then, the driver has had to pause driving jobs for five days to get his car cleaned, resulting in a significant loss of income.

After the post went viral, he said he received a call from someone claiming to represent the three women.

The caller said the women were willing to pay the amount he requested if he took down his post due to the heavy criticism they were receiving on social media.

Because he had not received an apology from any of the women, he said the post would remain up.
