A viral list ranking Asia’s 10 most beautiful school uniforms has placed Singapore in last place, but netizens have questioned the accuracy of the photos used.

Meanwhile, Malaysia took seventh place, with its uniform shown as a black flared skirt.
Japan, known for its “kawaii” culture, unsurprisingly topped the list, with a checkered skirt, grey vest, and neck bow completing the outfit.
The full list is as follows:
However, netizens, particularly those from Malaysia, pointed out that the uniform attributed to Singapore was, in fact, from Malaysia.
One user confidently commented: “No. 10 is Malaysia’s, since when is it Singapore’s?” Another netizen from Singapore added: “No wonder I’ve never seen this uniform in Singapore.”
Some users criticised the post’s creator for confusing the two countries, with one saying the OP’s geographical knowledge is terrible. “Singapore and Malaysia are different countries,” they pointed out.
Additionally, the depiction of Malaysia’s uniform drew objections, with one commenter pointing out that school skirts in the country could never be that short.
Being a Muslim-majority country, school uniforms generally have longer skirts that have to fall below the knee. The uniform incorrectly labelled as Singapore’s should be Malaysia’s, judging from the skirt length, she added.
Another commenter shared the supposed source of the photo, with a caption indicating that it was actually a uniform from Taiwan. Many agreed that it did indeed look like a Taiwanese school uniform.
Further scrutiny extended beyond Singapore and Malaysia.
Netizens from countries such as China, India, and Thailand also questioned the accuracy of the uniforms shown, with a Chinese user noting that the uniform featured for China is typically worn only in private schools.
Several comments dismissed the post as “nonsense” and urged others not to believe what was depicted.
