Multiple photos and clips on social media show the void deck of a HDB block engulfed in a massive blaze.
A man was also seen detained by the police.
According to the Police, the incident happened at Block 105 along Towner Road on Friday (13 Mar) at around 11.10pm.
“3-4 explosions” were heard, according to an MS News reader.
SCDF officers were later seen extinguishing the fire.
1 resident interviewed by Channel NewsAsia (CNA) said he heard a commotion outside the neighbourhood police post.
Another witness said he saw an “incendiary canister” being thrown into the blaze.
There were also multiple graffiti scribbled on the walls near the police post. One of them apparently spelled out “ISIS”, a notorious terrorist group.
There were also graffitis on other parts of the wall, criticising the ruling government of Singapore.
In another clip uploaded on Facebook, the man can be heard yelling expletives.
A 31-year-old man has been detained for his suspected involvement in the incident. Police investigations are currently ongoing.
