A 24-year-old male driver was arrested following a chain collision in Yishun that involved five vehicles.
A video of the aftermath, posted on Singapore Stuff’s Facebook page, shows several cars badly damaged on the road.
Amid the constant blaring of a car horn, a red car was seen with severe front-end damage, and three of its doors were open.
The vehicle had collided with a black car in front of it, causing the red car to spin and stop perpendicular to the flow of traffic.
The black car also sustained damage to its bonnet, and its doors were open.
Further up, a white car had a dented bonnet and an open passenger door.
It had apparently made contact with a lorry in front of it.
Debris was scattered across the road, and at least one police officer was seen at the scene.
Two lanes were closed off by police motorcycles, with only one lane on the far right remaining passable for traffic.
At 6.56pm on Friday (13 Dec), the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA’s) traffic news account on X warned motorists of the accident along Yishun Avenue 2 towards Yishun Central, after Yishun Ring Road.
Responding to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at around 6.35pm on 13 Dec.
The collision took place along Yishun Avenue 2, heading towards Canberra Link, and involved four cars and one lorry.
Four people, aged between 24 and 65 — two drivers and two passengers — were sent to the hospital in a conscious state.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), alerted at around 6.40pm, confirmed they were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
A fifth person suffered minor injuries and was assessed by SCDF, but declined hospital transport.
Following the incident, the 24-year-old male driver was arrested.
He was found to have been driving while under disqualification.
Police investigations are ongoing.
