Singapore Has 72 Confirmed Covid-19 Cases On 15 Feb

Singapore confirms 5 new infected patients on Saturday (15 Feb). After 2 consecutive days of alarming spikes in Covid-19 cases, today’s statistics are relatively less worrisome.

Singapore now has a total of 72 Covid-19 infections, reports Channel NewsAsia (CNA). Of the 5 new cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) revealed that:

  • 3 are linked to the Grace Assembly of God church cluster
  • 1 linked to Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site cluster
  • Another linked to a previous patient.

Here’s a breakdown on the latest cases.

Profile breakdown of 5 new Covid-19 cases

CNA has listed the profiles of the 5 latest cases as per MOH’s press release.

68th case: A 79-year-old Singaporean who hasn’t travelled to China recently. She’s a family member of the 66th case, announced yesterday (14 Feb).

69th case: A 26-year-old Bangladeshi worker, with no recent travel history to China. The Singapore Work Pass holder is connected to the Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site cluster.

70th case: A 27-year-old female Singaporean, who also hasn’t travelled to China recently. She’s a family member of the 66th case as well.

71st case: A 25-year-old male Singaporean, also hasn’t travelled to China recently. He’s identified as a contact of the 66th case.

72nd case: A 40-year-old male Chinese national. The Singapore Work Pass holder has no recent travel history to China, and is identified as a non-medical contact of the 59th case.

59th case: A 61-year-old male Singaporean, currently isolated at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). He hasn’t travelled to China recently.

He started showing onset symptoms on 7 Feb, and had gone to Farrer Park Hospital’s emergency care clinic for treatment on 10 Feb. He visited Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s emergency department 2 days later, and was admitted to NCID on 13 Feb. He tested positive for Covid-19 the same day.

The patient reportedly stayed at home at Wilkinson Road most of the time. He worked at a private hospital, and has not reported for work since he had fallen ill. MOH states he has no known interactions with previous case.

66th case: A 28-year-old male Singaporean who hasn’t travelled to China recently. Currently isolated at NCID, he is linked to the Grace Assembly of God church cluster.

On 29 Jan, he suffered onset of symptoms. He went to a GP clinic on 3 days — 2 Feb, 5 Feb, and 12 Feb. He was later referred to NCID on the 3rd day of visiting the clinic. He was tested positive for Covid-19 on 14 Feb.

Before being admitted, he worked at Grace Assembly of God, and gone for church services at God’s Kingdom Bread of Life Church at Jalan Pemimpin. He resides at Mei Hwan Drive.

18 infected patients discharged so far

On to slightly more positive news, MOH says that one more patient has been discharged from the hospital today (15 Feb).

This brings the total of fully recovered cases to 18. Meanwhile, 54 confirmed cases are still in hospital.

Most of them are in stable condition, while 6 remain in critical condition.
