Talk about starting with a clean slate.
Influencer Daryl Aiden Yow has deleted all 1,000+ photos from his popular Instagram feed, in a move that has shocked many of his 104,000 followers.
His drastic – and probably time-consuming – act comes on the heels of a growing social media scandal.
On Wednesday (20 Jun) morning, news broke that Daryl had used stock images in his photos and not credited them properly.
Some trashed him for misleading clients and fans while others defended his move.
But whether you approved of his actions or not, there’s no denying that the scandal has hurt the Daryl Aiden Yow brand.
That brand has been steadily on the rise these past few years.
Daryl’s Instagram-perfect photos snagged him a number of high-profile clients, including Sony and Uniqlo.
As the good friend and right-hand man of fellow influencer Andrea Chong, Daryl seemed poised to take over the scene as a top male influencer.
This was made even more certain by Daryl’s boyish charm and runway-ready style.
But how he will bounce back from this week’s scandal remains to be seen.
The sole post left on Daryl’s feed is his apology, in which he expressed regret for his actions.
But how are fans reacting to his starting over?
At press time, a MustShareNews poll found that 66% of respondents felt that Daryl’s actions were a tad drastic.
Just 1 in 3 said that it was a smart thing to do.
