Motorists in Thailand were shocked when they saw a black Toyota Vios driving on the road with a petrol hose still connected to the fuel tank.
A clip of the incident was posted on TikTok where it quickly went viral.
According to the caption, the incident happened at a petrol station on Hathai Rat road in Bangkok. The driver had topped up his fuel and handed the attendant a card to pay for it.
However, when the attendant went to swipe the card, the driver suddenly fled.
In the process of exiting the station, the car took along the petrol hose, which was still connected to the fuel tank.
In the clip, the car can be seen driving down the small road at a leisurely pace — all while dragging the hose along.
A nearby motorist honked at the driver, trying to alert him that there was a hose still connected to his car. Even then, the driver continued on his way.
Photos shared in the same post indicated that the hose eventually detached from the car.
Although it had shed its ‘extra baggage’, the fuel tank cover remained open.
Netizens were bewildered by the scene.
One commenter jokingly asked if the Bangkok petrol station had a new Bluetooth refueling technology.
Another mentioned that the driver fled a ฿500 (S$20) charge for petrol, but will get charged a ฿20,000 (S$790) bill for damages to the hose.
It is unclear when the incident took place, but a search for the driver involved is allegedly underway.
