Singapore is known for its multi-religious and multi-racial cultural cohesiveness. However, it is not everyday that you see 10 different religious leaders conduct blessings at the same place and time.
A viral photo posted on the Singapore Grand Prix’s Facebook page depicts 10 representatives from various religious groups coming together to shower their blessings on the annual Singapore Night Race.
This year’s Singapore Grand Prix will be held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit from 20-22 Sep.
Here are the religious leaders who participated (left to right):
However, this isn’t the first time leaders of religious groups have gathered to bless the Singapore track.
According to TODAY Online, the tradition of blessing the track has been around since 2008, when the 1st Singapore night race was held.
Aside from blessing the F1 track, religious leaders also gather to bless MRT tracks and National Day Parades.
Some netizens quickly reacted to the post and are sharing some heart-warming comments on the various religious groups coming together.
This small but powerful move to gather various religions together to shower blessings for the track is an example of our multi-religious society at work.
Let us all remember that we are Singaporeans and regardless of race, language or religion, we can overcome adversities if we put aside our differences.
