After offering them to try out a new vape flavour, four teenage boys allegedly gang-raped three 13-year-old Malaysian girls at a lodging house in Malaysia.
Police were able to track down and arrest the boys alongside a female accomplice following a report by one of the victims.
Investigations into the assault are still ongoing, with the suspects currently remanded.
According to The Star, the assault occurred at a lodging house in Sabah, Malaysia, on 26 Apr.
Kota Kinabalu police chief Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said a girl, 17, had allegedly assisted the four suspects in luring the victims.
They had approached the three victims at a shopping centre in the city. The suspects then persuaded them to hang out at their lodging house in Kampung Air.
While at the house, the perpetrators offered them a new vape flavour to smoke.
After accepting the invitation, the victims lost consciousness and woke up in the middle of the night.
They discovered they had no clothes on, while the suspects had all disappeared from the scene.
After one of the victims lodged a police report, authorities managed to track down and arrest the four boys and their female accomplice on 27 Apr.
“All the suspects, aged 13 to 17, were arrested around the city and Telipok Ria in Tuaran district,” Mohd Zaidi said.
Following the first victim’s report, police discovered that her two friends were also allegedly gang-raped by the same boys.
The suspects are now remanded until 5 May to assist with the ongoing investigation, which involves charges of rape and pimping.
