During the ‘Circuit Breaker’, many of us are resorting to food delivery for our meals. Mother’s Day yesterday (10 May) was clearly no exception.
One GrabFood customer, however, was touched when her rider waited nearly 3 hours at a Bukit Batok tze char eatery without any complaints just so she could enjoy her Mother’s Day dinner at home.
She took to Facebook late on Sunday (10 May) to praise the GrabFood rider. You can read her post in full here.
In the post, Ms Lim, the customer, said she decided to order dinner via GrabFood as she wanted to “treat her (my) mom to a meal” in light of the special occasion.
However, she was unaware of the high demand that Hong Kong Street Cheng Ji – located in Bukit Batok – was facing at the time.

According To Ms Lim, there were 30-45 people ahead of her and the estimated waiting time was around 2 hours.
To make things worse, the restaurant allegedly did not provide updates on when the meals would be ready.
Despite the long wait, Mr Kuah, the GrabFood rider assigned to her, was extremely patient and did not complain despite the long wait.
In his words,
Today is Mother’s Day, can’t get angry. Must be happy.
Apparently, Mr Kuah did not want to spoil the Mother’s Day dinner and waited 2 hours and 40 minutes for the order to be prepared.
Ms Lim also wrote in the post that Mr Kuah could have simply cancelled on her or “pestered” her to do so, but he did neither of that.
Ms Lim’s order finally reached at around 9.50pm, nearly 3 hours after she placed the order.
While the food that arrived wasn’t consistent with the orders, Ms Lim wrote that her heart was already “full and contented” thanks to Mr Kuah’s actions.
Shoutout to Mr Kuah for going the extra mile so his customer could enjoy her Mother’s Day dinner at home.
