Certis Cisco Looking For Family Members Of Ipoh Man Who Passed Away In Singapore

UPDATE (6 Nov, 3.50pm): A previous version of the article included a sentence which might have implied that Certis used social media to locate the man’s next-of-kin. They have not done this.

We’ve also included a statement from Certis, which you can find below. They have liaised with the High Commission of Malaysia to locate his next-of-kin.

Working overseas entails a certain degree of risk, especially because you’re likely to be separated from family.

And in the case of a tragedy, the family might not be easily contactable.

Certis Cisco is currently seeking the family members of a man from Ipoh, Malaysia, who passed away in Singapore.

The notice was shared on various groups, including Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers.

Anyone with information about his family should contact the company directly.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our officers. Since his demise, we immediately called his listed emergency contact in our records. Unfortunately, we are still unable to contact his family. We have also reached out to the High Commission of Malaysia for assistance, and are continuing with our efforts.

We would like to clarify that Certis did not publish the deceased’s personal details on any media or social media platforms out of respect to our officer and his loved ones.

Our immediate priority now is to be able to connect with his family as quickly as possible. Certis is committed to providing our full support to one of ours and to be able to offer our condolences to his family during this difficult time.”

Ipoh man passes away in Singapore

The deceased, Lim Jee Meng, hailed from Ipoh, Perak.

He was working at Certis Cisco Security Pte Ltd in Singapore, and passed away on Wednesday (4 Nov) from liver failure.

The residence shown on his Malaysian identity card is located in Ipoh.

So far, his company & colleagues have been unable to contact his next-of-kin.

Some people have used Facebook in an attempt to locate them, although it must be noted that Certis Cisco didn’t publish his details on the Internet.

They explained that they’re in contact with the High Commission of Malaysia and will continue to look for his next-of-kin.

Condolences to his family

It’s always unfortunate to hear about a death, especially when it occurs away from home.

His family may not even have realised that a family member has passed away.

Hopefully, with the power of social media, his next-of-kin can retrieve his body from Singapore.
