The brilliant orange of a toucan’s beak, or the gentle swish of an eagle’s wing, sights and sounds our children won’t be able to witness unless they see it up close in person.
This September school holiday, you can make plans to take your kids out to learn about conservation efforts for majestic avian creatures big and small.
Jurong Bird Park will be offering free tickets to all Singaporeans, PRs and workers holding an Employment Pass from these dates:
Regular ticket prices go as follows if you buy them online:
You can also get adult tickets at $30.00 if you buy them at the gate.
With free entry, you’ll be saving a great deal for your entire family if you plan a trip during this period to meet the birds.
Here’s the list of 15 exhibits available in the Bird Park, so you can begin planning your journey. We know we’ll be hitting the penguin exhibit at some point, just to see their little tails waddle around.
The areas listed with a price are ‘gated areas’ and will require a small additional fee for entry. However, we think it’s still worth the money, taking into account the original ticket price for an adult is close to $30.
Don’t forget to make time to check out the stunning shows at the Hawk Arena and Pools Amphitheatre to catch the talented bird actors do crazy tricks in midflight.
Do note that the shows are subject to weather conditions, and will require a $4 fee/person to watch.
You can purchase $10 worth of coupons at the location, before you use them in a mix and match format to catch the shows and visit areas of your choice.
Jurong Bird Park is the largest bird conservation centre in Asia, with over 400 different species.
Special care is given to about 20% of these breeds as they are considered ‘threatened’ species — including the Strawheaded bulbul, White-rumped shama and Greater green leafbirds.
Jurong Bird Park is in the west of Singapore, and here are the nearest transport options so you can have a smooth journey there for a meaningful excursion ahead.

If you’ve never paid this world-class aviary a visit before, or simply want an unorthodox way to galvanise your kiddos to get off their iPads and out on an adventure IRL, this seems like the perfect opportunity.
They’ll get to learn more about the many beautiful species of birds in our region, and also be encouraged to support wildlife conservation efforts.
Sounds like a meaningful way to spend the September holidays indeed.
