S’poreans Dedicate Heartfelt Letters To Healthcare Workers Fighting Coronavirus, Welcome More Contributions

Letters Will Be Sent To Healthcare Workers On Valentine’s Day

The coronavirus outbreak has seen healthcare workers like doctors, nurses and many other hospital staff working doubly hard.

Even with their sacrifices, not everyone has shown them the respect and appreciation they deserve. A kind Singaporean has decided to change that, by writing notes thanking the selfless workers.

Leading this initiative is @Tabaogirl on Instagram, one of the few people who collate messages from the public and convert them into digital form.

Remembering our healthcare workers on Valentine’s Day

Since Valentine’s Day is around the corner, these sincere messages could not come at a better time.

Healthcare workers who may not have the chance to spend the day with their loved ones would surely appreciate the kind words from thoughtful strangers.

@Tabaogirl, or Shihui, said that she started this initiative to keep dedicated healthcare workers in mind as they work tirelessly on their shifts, even throughout Valentine’s Day.

Hence, she wanted to get Singaporeans to write messages of appreciation for them.

Heartfelt messages

Shihui included an example of a message that will be sent to the healthcare workers.

She noted that because hospitals fear the risk of infection via physical letters, she will relay the messages via digital means instead.

How to send in your notes

To participate in this initiative, all you have to do is follow two simple steps:

  1. Write a 30-word note and take a photo of it.
  2. Upload the photo to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #BraveheartSG

Alternatively, you can also email your note to braveheart2020@gmail.com.

Kudos to frontline medical staff

With this initiative ongoing, many people have started to send in the messages, so do remember to send in yours.

If you are not the type to write a message, maybe the next time you see a frontline healthcare worker on the MRT, you can offer them your seat. A simple gesture of appreciation can really go a long way.

MS News would like to show our appreciation and gratitude to those who have worked tirelessly to protect the nation from this peculiar virus.
