Mr Low Thia Khiang, Aljunied GRC MP and ex-secretary general of the Workers’ Party (WP), is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU), announced the party on Sunday (3 May).
The 63-year-old sustained a head injury from a fall in his home on Thursday (30 Apr).
Luckily, he is conscious, but his family wishes for privacy as they’d like him to rest.
WP did not mention the hospital that Mr Low is currently in.
However, they’ve announced that while he’s absent on medical leave, the rest of the Aljunied GRC MPs consisting of Ms Sylvia Lim, Mr Pritam Singh, Mr Chen Show Mao and Mr Muhamad Faisal Bin Abdul Manap will cover his duties at the GRC.
Former Non-Constituency Member of Parliament Gerald Giam will also be helping out.
As one of the most respected opposition politicians in Singapore, even participating in overseas delegations together with PAP ministers, netizens were absolutely devastated to receive this news.
