A young man was crushed by a bus as he was sitting on a bench at a bus station in Kerala, India on Sunday (1 Dec).
CCTV footage circulating on Facebook showed the victim, identified as Vishnu, seated and staring at his phone when the bus suddenly hit him.
The front of the bus propped on his body as he remained seated on the bench.
Fortunately, the bus lurched backwards a few seconds later and passers-by proceeded to check on him.
Despite being hit by the bus, Vishnu managed to get back on his feet.
He was reportedly taken by witnesses to a private hospital for treatment and only sustained minor injury to his legs.
The bus station authorities said a gear mishap caused the accident.
The driver tried to park the bus a few metres away from Vishnu. However, the vehicle lurched forward when the driver tried putting it in reverse gear.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
