1,500 SAF Soldiers Joins Battle Against Wuhan Virus, Packs 5.2 Million Face Masks For Singaporeans

Each household will be receiving 4 pieces of face masks from the Singapore government, as announced on Thursday 30 Jan.

To ensure the 5.2 million face masks are packed by Saturday (1 Feb), the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has activated 1,500 soldiers to prepare the supplies.

They commenced a 24-hour operation at SAFTI Military Institute and will be scheduled to complete their task by the morning.

They are task to pack the face masks in a zip lock bag, consolidating 400 of such packages into a carton box.

Sitting in rows, they are helping out in 8-hour shifts that require them to complete the packing of 200,000 masks.

With the provision of large vans and operational utility vehicles, they will transport the boxes across community centres in Singapore.
