SingPost Will Still Deliver Mail During ‘Circuit Breaker’, But Expect Up To 3 Days’ Delay

SingPost Will Still Deliver Mail During ‘Circuit Breaker’ Period, Even To Businesses That Are Closed

Postal services are considered essential, as SingPost will continue to deliver mail till 4 May.

Like all other businesses, the local post will adjust operations to meet new guidelines set up by the government. This could lead to slight delays in the service to customers.

In their Facebook post on 6 Apr, SingPost shared updates on how mail delivery will be adjusted during ‘Circuit Breaker’ period.

SingPost will continue mail delivery for households & businesses

For the next month, mail delivery will continue islandwide.

Mail might take up to 3 additional working days to arrive as delays on the processing and delivery of items are expected due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

All small tracked packages will be delivered straight to the letterbox.

Although non-essential businesses are closed during this time, SingPost will still deliver mail to their address.

Should the letterbox hit full capacity, the postal service will hang on to mail until 4 May, and redeliver these items when offices reopen.

Speedpost still in operation

Speedpost, SingPost’s local courier service with doorstep collection and delivery, will still run during this time.

To maintain safety and hygiene standards, contactless receiving options will be made available.

In the unlikely event that no one is home and the item can’t be delivered, it will be sent to the nearerst POPStation for self-collection.

Post offices will remain open

24 post offices will remain open with full services available at these locations.

Customers can refer to SingPost’s website or click here to see the operating hours of these post offices.

Capacity limitations, safe distancing and temperature checks will be in effect in compliance with the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) guidelines.

SingPost will also collect personal contact details to facilitate contact tracing should the need arise.

Keep postal service running smoothly

To ensure the smooth deliveries, SingPost advises customers to do the following:

  • Clear letterboxes frequently so there is space for incoming mail
  • Indicate recipient’s contact number and a return address
  • Update delivery addresses as SingPost is unable to redirect items upon receiving them.

Customers can visit SingPost’s website for more information.

Cooperate with SingPost is key

With ‘Circuit Breaker’ measures in place, citizens are bound to online shop at some point. Hence we should cooperate with SingPost to make sure our goodies, or important documents, reach us as soon as possible.

Let’s give them our kind understanding during this difficult time and not kick up a fuss over any delays, we’re all trying our best here.
