A Redditor has taken to the Singapore Raw Subreddit to share about an alleged scam that occurred in Somerset.
According to the post, the victim and her friends were walking near the entrance of 313@somerset when a group of boys and girls — who appeared to be teenagers — intentionally fell off their scooters.
The victim claimed it was “very obvious” that their actions were deliberate as they fell “far away” from the group.
The teenagers then approached the victim’s group and demanded compensation. They claimed they had a video of the incident and threatened to call the police if the victim and her friends walked away.
The victim hurriedly phoned her husband, who rushed down to the site. According to the victim’s husband, there were three boys and three girls involved.
The victim’s husband was seemingly unfazed about the group’s threats to call the police, even encouraging them to do so.
However, the group allegedly rushed off after the victim’s husband alerted the police.
The victim’s husband also urged others not to “give in” to such alleged scammers:
If they tried to do it once, they must have tried many times before.
He added that the alleged scammers might have targeted his wife as they assumed she was a foreigner
