SPCA Seeks $600,000 In Donations To Fund Animal Clinic & Shelter This Christmas

SPCA Seeks Donations For Rescue Animal Clinic & Shelter Supplies

Christmas is often referred to as a season of giving.

But when we speak of giving, the first thing that comes to our mind most of the time is buying gifts for our family and friends.

However, this Christmas, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) needs your help.

SPCA posted on Facebook, seeking about $600,000 in donations to fund their rescue animal clinic and shelter supplies.

SPCA’s Animal Clinic needs about $600,000 yearly

SPCA shares that their Community Animal Clinic needs about $600,000 each year to operate.

For some context, this animal clinic sees about 20 animals daily, which adds up to 7,300 animals a year.

If you are or have been a pet owner, you would know that treating an animal isn’t cheap at all.

Furthermore, as an independent animal shelter, SPCA does not receive financial support from the government. All they can rely on are donations.

SPCA’s Christmas wish list

Apart from $600,000 needed on clinical supplies, SPCA also requires a hefty sum to fund rescue animals’ food and shelter needs.

In addition, they have to set aside a budget for miscellaneous items like garbage bags, paper towels and many more reflected in the list below.

Based on the list and the costs, SPCA will need about:

  • $21,900 on animal food
  • $11,700 on animal shelter supplies, and
  • $13,900 on miscellaneous items

Yes, that’s a lot. So you can help SPCA strike items off their wish list here.

If you have any more questions regarding the donations, don’t hesitate to contact them at fundraising@spca.org.sg or call them at 62875355 ext 35.

All donations made to SPCA are eligible for 250% tax deduction.

Make this Christmas a meaningful one

Christmas means we’re approaching the new year, and for SPCA, that means a new year of rescuing and treating abandoned animals.

So let’s band together and make this Christmas a meaningful one by helping the animals in need.

Kudos to SPCA for tirelessly taking in needy animals and giving them a pleasant environment to live in.
