According to her parents, who spoke to Sin Chew Daily, the girl was always hardworking and driven in her studies.
Her sudden death came as a shock to her family, as she had been in good health leading up to the incident.
On the morning of Monday (2 Dec), Shen Huiyi (transliterated from Mandarin) began screaming in agony during the early hours.
Her parents were awakened by the sound and rushed to her side, but found her in too much pain to speak.
They initially assumed that her headache was due to the stress of the upcoming exams.
However, shortly after, Ms Shen fell into a coma, and brain scans revealed she had suffered a brain haemorrhage.
Despite their initial shock, her parents reported no prior signs of illness or unusual symptoms in her.
Ms Shen’s teacher, however, had noticed that she appeared unwell at school the previous week, though no one had suspected the severity of her condition.
The girl passed away a few days later, on Thursday (5 Dec), after being admitted to the hospital.

They never pressured her to study, as she was self-motivated and consistently achieved good results in school.
At present, they are concerned about how to inform her grandparents of her sudden passing, worried they would be unable to cope with the news.
Her body is currently at a funeral parlour, and the funeral procession will take place tomorrow morning (7 Dec) before her cremation.
