If you’ve prepared homemade spring rolls or samosas for your family, chances are, Spring Home products by Tee Yih Jia Food Manufacturing would be a familiar brand.
On Tuesday (11 Feb), Singapore Food Authority (SFA) issued a statement, stating that some of the company’s products have been recalled as it could potentially contain “undeclared milk allergen”.
According to the statement, 3 products are affected by the recall, namely:
You can refer to SFA’s website for the pictures of all the affected products.
All the products are manufactured in Singapore and have best-before dates before 8 Feb 2023, according to SFA’s statement.
The recall was issued after a customer from the UK detected milk allergen in the products.
These substances were not declared in the products’ labels.
The manufacturer is currently testing its products to confirm if the undeclared substances are indeed in their products.
As a precautionary measure, SFA has directed a recall on the products. The process is ongoing.
SFA advises those who had bought the affected products and who are allergic to milk not to consume the affected products.
Customers can contact Tee Yih Jia at 6880-9888 for enquiries and to exchange or refund the affected products.
Kudos to SFA for their proactive measures in ensuring that those who are allergic to milk derivatives do not have their allergies flare up mysteriously.
