From food delivery riders to healthcare workers, many Singaporeans are still out there supporting us during this ‘Circuit Breaker’.
This includes uncles or aunties sweeping the grounds at neighbourhood parks, ensuring we have clean and green spaces to go to for exercise.
Upon coming across an elderly sweeper, a Singaporean man lent a helping hand by taking over his job for a short while.
This allowed the elderly man a few minutes to sit and rest after a rough day.
A young Singaporean wearing a white singlet was seen sweeping leaves at Toh Guan Park as seen in a Facebook post by Sujatha Nair on Thursday (23 Apr).
He was aiding an elderly essential worker with his job so that he can take a break under the shelter.
The elderly sweeper is seen wearing a face mask and cap. One can only imagine how tired he is working in this humid weather.
While offering his assistance, the man diligently followed social distancing guidelines, donning a face mask to protect him and others.
When the netizen came across this touching sight during a walk in the park, she was extremely impressed by the man’s kind gesture.
Hence, she decided to share this quiet, but meaningful moment with fellow Singaporeans, giving us the dose of positivity we need right now.
In his own way, the man was able to support others during this critical period, in turn giving us hope for the days to come.
It shows us that there are ways in which we can assist others despite physical distance. All we need is a heart to help.
