When we’re on holiday, the last thing we want to think about are chores. After all, the point of a vacation is relaxation. However, this German tourist who was holidaying in Tioman Island took it upon herself to clean the beach.
In fact, she cleaned the beach for the entire week that she was there.
Mr Ong, who witnessed her efforts, shared a short account of her kind deed on Facebook.

The civic-minded tourist voluntarily spent her own time and effort to pick up the rubbish strewn on the beach.
Given that a bag or more would have been easily filled within a day, she would have cleared at least 7 bags worth of trash from the beach.
Despite her best efforts, countless pieces of litter can still be seen strewn on the ground.
Needless to say, the netizens too were touched and thanked her for doing her part to clean the beaches.

Others who shared the post urged others to be responsible and dispose of their litter after going to the beach.
This tourist has taught us an important lesson — everyone can play their part in keeping the environment clean.
While it is important to clear the beach’s trash and litter, it is vital that we do not litter in the first place.
Not only does it pollute the sea, animals might mistake trash for food and ingest them, causing them to die.
Thus, let’s do our part to keep the environment clean and protect it as well.
