When MS News went down to Lavender station at around 11pm, the scene was quiet and there were only a few people around.
At Kallang station, authorities had cordoned off the entrance and no one was allowed to enter.
SMRT added they are currently assisting the police with investigations.
In the meantime, the SMRT Care Team was deployed to help other staff and family members of the deceased when identified.
As investigations are ongoing, let us refrain from jumping to conclusions regarding the deceased’s motives for entering the tracks and let the authorities do their job for now.
Our hearts go out to family members of the deceased. It must be incredibly difficult and shocking to learn of the circumstances surrounding the death of their loved one.
