Woman in Indonesia fatally stabbed by husband during livestream on Facebook

A woman in Indonesia was stabbed to death by a jealous husband while she was singing in a livestream on Facebook.

The shocking incident occurred on Saturday (2 Nov) night and was captured on the victim’s live broadcast, quickly spreading on social media and shocking many netizens.

Stabbed five times while singing karaoke on livestream

A viral 32-second online video shows the woman in a pink dress singing karaoke alongside her family member while sitting on the floor inside their home.

Shortly after, a man, who was identified as her husband, walks up behind her, picks up a knife, and suddenly stabs her five times, causing her to collapse.

Screams are heard from other family members present, who are witnessing the brutal attack.

One family member rushes to drag the victim away, while another man approaches the husband to stop him from continuing the attack.

Murder driven by jealousy due to victim’s continued contact with her ex

The victim, Ms Hertalina Br Simanjuntak, was rushed to a hospital. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries.

Following the murder, her husband, Agus Herbin Tambun, was arrested within 24 hours while hiding at his relative’s house.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Agus admitted his actions were fueled by anger and jealousy over Hertalina’s continued frequent contact with her ex-husband, according to Indonesian news outlet Detiknews.

A police spokesperson said the knife used as the weapon belonged to the victim, usually used for slicing oranges.
