The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 34 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore today (16 Apr 2021).
32 are imported among individuals serving their Stay-Home Notices (SHNs).
For the first time in over a month, Singapore has 2 community Covid-19 cases. The last time we reported that number was on 3 Mar.
Today’s tally brings our total so far to 60,769.
Now that more people are gaining access to the vaccine in Singapore, we can safely assume that there’s a steady supply.
With that comes the privilege of choosing our preferred vaccine, which the Government allows.
Since each vaccination centre only administers 1 type of vaccine, one can choose which centre to go to according to the vaccine they’d like to receive.
Make sure to return to the same centre for the subsequent dose of the same vaccine.
Singapore currently authorises only the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, so you’ll only have to decide between the 2.
While there’s no solid proof yet of the efficacy of the vaccine in protecting us against Covid-19, it’s still a welcome form of protection that possibly prevents the situation from getting worse.
Therefore, those of us who have yet to receive our doses should seriously consider getting them when our turns come. After all, they’re fully funded, and could be what leads us to further stages of safe reopening.
