A-PRICE Tanjong Pagar has ready-to-eat meals from S$1.80, plus ingredients to recreate them at home

Japanese wholesale grocer A-PRICE launches affordable ready-to-eat meals at Tanjong Pagar outlet

Following its successful launch in June this year, A-PRICE Singapore is giving those working and living around Tanjong Pagar another reason to drop by.

The Japanese cash-and-carry supermarket, known for offering professional-grade ingredients and groceries at affordable wholesale prices, is introducing a new range of ready-to-eat meals from 1 Nov, with prices starting at just S$1.80.

And if you discover a dish you particularly enjoy, you can even recreate it at home, with all the ingredients available in-store so you can get everything you need in one convenient trip.

Ready-to-eat Japanese meals from S$1.80

A-PRICE’s ready-to-eat line-up covers everything from light bites and refreshing soups to more substantial rice bowls, with eight options to choose from.

For a tasty side dish or light midday snack, there’s the Umami Salt Cabbage Salad, an izakaya-style favourite featuring crisp cabbage tossed with sesame oil, garlic, and salt, all for just S$1.80.

If you’re in the mood for something refreshing, try the Colourful Tomato Gazpacho, a chilled soup made with blended vegetables and tomatoes, or the Green Harvest Potage, a smooth, velvety vegetable soup that’s also served cold. Both are priced at S$2.80 each.

For something more filling, there’s the Japanese Hijiki Salmon Delight at S$4.80, featuring seasoned tofu pockets filled with sushi rice, complemented by salmon and hijiki seaweed.

Salmon lovers can also choose between the Loaded Salmon Poke Bowl and the Korean Spicy Salmon Bowl, both priced at S$5.60, with the latter offering a spicy, savoury kick.

And for a slightly more indulgent meal, there’s the Loaded Unagi Rice Box, featuring glazed unagi over Japanese rice, or the Deluxe Crab and Ikura Rice Bowl, generously topped with crab meat and soy-cured salmon roe. Both will set you back just S$6.80 each.

Don’t let their compact square boxes fool you either. While they might look small at first glance, they’re packed with food, making the meals surprisingly filling and easy to tapau.

Taste it first, then recreate it yourself

If you discover something you really like and want to recreate it at home, the good news is that A-PRICE makes it easy to do so, with all the ingredients you need available in the same store.

The concept follows three simple steps: discover, taste, and recreate. Each ready-to-eat dish comes with a recipe card detailing the ingredients used, so you can follow it to recreate the original or get creative and customise it to suit your preferences.

Better yet, making the meals yourself can mean even greater savings, thanks to A-PRICE’s wholesale prices.

For example, the Loaded Unagi Rice Box, which retails for S$6.80, has an estimated DIY cost of just S$2.10, while the Loaded Salmon Poke Bowl can be recreated for approximately S$2.85, compared to its S$5.60 ready-to-eat price.

Professional-grade ingredients at wholesale prices

Originally developed for the F&B industry, A-PRICE also welcomes everyday shoppers looking for quality ingredients at affordable prices.

Backed by TOHO Group’s extensive sourcing and supply-chain network, the supermarket carries a wide range of professional-grade food products, including those from its in-house brands such as EAST BEE, S.E.A LION, Bread ’N Better, and FRESHdirect.

There’s more to look forward to this festive season, too, as A-PRICE will be introducing Christmas items made in its own factory.

Previously supplied exclusively to restaurants and hotels, these products will be available directly to shoppers for the first time, just in time for year-end gatherings and celebrations.
