Motorcyclist seen lying on road after Seletar West Link accident

A 25-year-old motorcyclist died on Tuesday (18 Aug) evening after an accident involving a car along Seletar West Link.

Footage of the aftermath posted on TikTok showed the man lying on the road after the fatal crash.

Paramedics attend to fallen motorcyclist

In the clip, which was recorded at 7.08pm, three paramedics were attending to the fallen motorcyclist in the centre lane of the road.

A motorcycle lay on its side next to them, as well as a stretcher.

An ambulance had stopped a few metres in front.

2 out of 3 lanes blocked on Seletar West Link

Several other vehicles had stopped on the road, including five cars, one tipper truck and two motorcycles.

This caused two out of three lanes of the road to be blocked, with traffic passable only in the far-right lane.

Due to the blockage, many passers-by were directing traffic, including a man wearing a helmet.

2 injured, 1 dead after Seletar West Link accident

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 6.45pm on 18 Aug.

It took place along Seletar West Link in the direction of the Central Expressway (CTE) and involved a car and a motorcycle.

 

A 25-year-old male motorcyclist was sent to the hospital in an unconscious state.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at about 6.50pm, told MS News that he was conveyed to Sengkang General Hospital.

However, he subsequently passed away.

Another person who suffered minor injuries was assessed by SCDF, but they declined to be sent to the hospital.

Female car driver arrested

Additionally, a 57-year-old female car driver was arrested for careless driving causing death.

She is also assisting with investigations.

Police investigations are ongoing.
