AirAsia has advised passengers travelling through Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA Terminal 2) to plan ahead.
Heavier traffic and higher passenger volumes are expected during the Formula 1 race weekend at Sepang International Circuit, from 2 to 4 Oct.
Passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport at least three hours before the scheduled departure time for international flights and two hours before domestic flights.
This allows sufficient time for check-in, security and immigration procedures.
AirAsia said all passengers, including those travelling under group bookings, are encouraged to complete self check-in through the AirAsia MOVE app or the airline’s website.
Self check-in is available from 14 days up to one hour before the scheduled departure time.

The airline added that check-in counters will remain available for passengers requiring reduced mobility assistance or other special support.
AirAsia advised passengers to use the Express Rail Link (ERL) for a more convenient route to KLIA Terminal 2.
Guests should also monitor traffic updates and road closure announcements from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and consider alternative routes if necessary.

The airline warned that congestion is expected on major roads leading to both KLIA Terminal 2 and the Sepang International Circuit during the race weekend.
Passengers are advised to allow additional travel time and follow AirAsia’s official social media channels for the latest travel updates.
