A repeat drug offender who underwent reformative training in 2019 was jailed for two years and three months after ordering cannabis from Britain via Telegram.
Anton Andrievsky, 28, had ordered about 140g of cannabis from someone known as “Yaz” for his personal consumption.

The parcel was sent from Britain and intercepted by Singapore authorities at SingPost Centre in Eunos Road in Sept 2025.
Andrievsky, an American and Singapore permanent resident, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted drug possession on Wednesday (16 Sept).
An Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer was screening parcels at SingPost Centre on 30 Sept 2025 when he noticed anomalies in the X-ray image of a package.

According to The Straits Times (ST), the parcel was addressed to Andrievsky’s home in Toa Payoh.
However, it listed the previous owner of the flat as the recipient.
Authorities inspected the parcel and found a pair of jeans and around 136g of vegetable matter, that was subsequently identified as cannabis.
The case was then referred to the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).
Andrievsky had allegedly ordered about 140g of cannabis and intended to pay “Yaz” S$2,500 for it, ST reported.
Andrievsky told Singapore authorities that the drugs were for his personal consumption.
When officers asked him to show them his correspondence with Yaz, he claimed that he could not do so because he had forgotten his password.
He was subsequently charged with attempting to possess the cannabis parcel.

Andrievsky had used the particulars of the flat’s previous owner when placing the order.
According to ST, he did so because he did not want to use his own particulars.
CNB officers went to his Toa Payoh home at around 2.30pm on 30 Sept 2025.
They knocked on the front door and identified themselves, but no one answered.
Andrievsky was alone inside the flat and panicked, ST said.
He then texted his then girlfriend.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Jonathan Tan said CNB officers detected movement inside the unit and warned Andrievsky several times to open the door.
He refused to comply.
The officers subsequently used force to enter the unit and arrested him.

Andrievsky had previously undergone reformative training in 2019, ST said.
The programme involves young offenders being detained in a reformative training centre and undergoing a strict regimen that can include foot drills and counselling.
Despite his previous sentence, Andrievsky subsequently ordered cannabis from overseas.
He was sentenced to 27 months’ jail after pleading guilty to the drug offence.
