Heavy rain flooded parts of Bangkok, leaving many residents stranded as rising waters blocked roads and disrupted their journeys home.
Some residents turned to an unusual solution to get home. They bought kayaks and paddled through the flooded streets of Bangkok.

“Bangkok life is good and balanced. Why don’t you just paddle kayaks back home?” an in-video caption reads, sarcastically indicating the difficult conditions residents faced.
In response to MS News queries, the Original Poster (OP), Kittisak, said the incident was captured in front of The Mall Bangkapi last Saturday (26 Sept).
Floodwaters made the roads difficult for cars to navigate. This prompted some to head to a Decathlon store at the mall to buy kayaks instead.
When asked about the price of kayaks, Kittisak said it started at 11,000 baht (around S$420) per watercraft.
In the comments section, netizens shared how the unusual sight generally amused them.

The incident came as Bangkok grappled with widespread flooding after days of heavy rain.
Nearly 300mm of rain fell across the capital from 24 Sept, overwhelming drainage systems and causing floodwaters to spill onto major roads and into residential areas.
On 27 Sept, the Thai Meteorological Department warned that torrential rain would continue, worsening flooding in the city.
Thunderstorms are expected across 80% of the area.
