In the clip, which had a timestamp of 9.32pm on Monday (5 Oct), the man is seen cycling down the quiet lane away from the camera.

However, he made a U-turn and headed back the way he came.

He passed by an unattended bicycle leaning on pipes, positioned between two garbage bins, and appears to stare at it.

He then cycled out of frame but returned on foot.

Man removes bicycle wheel after several seconds of fiddling

Approaching the unattended bicycle, the man started fiddling with it, undeterred by the possibility of being seen by passing vehicles.

Despite almost giving up once, he returned to the bike and managed to detach its wheel several seconds later, even as a car drove past.

He then walked away with the wheel in his hands.

Bicycle owner appeals for information

In the caption, a netizen who identified himself as the bicycle’s owner said the incident took place along Prinsep Street.

He appealed to netizens to contact him if they recognised the man or had any information.

He has reported the case to the police, he added.

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
