A poorly-timed cut off by a private-hire vehicle (PHV) in Woodlands recently resulted in an infuriated BMW driver storming out of his car to argue.
At the same time, the PHV ended up blocking traffic in its original lane.
The incident allegedly took place at about 12.33pm on Saturday (9 May) at Woodlands Crossing.
Footage shows a black Mazda, registered as a PHV, trying to squeeze into the middle lane between the camcar and a silver BMW.

The gap between the two vehicles appeared extremely tight, leaving the PHV with little room to complete the lane change.
As a result, the PHV cut in front of the BMW but was unable to move fully into the middle lane.

About 10 seconds later, the BMW driver got out of his car and walked over to the PHV’s front passenger-side window.
He then knocked on the window, appearing to startle the front-seat passenger.

Although the audio was unclear, the BMW driver could be seen arguing with the occupants of the PHV while gesturing angrily towards his own car.
Meanwhile, as the PHV remained only partially in the middle lane, it ended up blocking a bus behind it. Traffic in the rightmost lane quickly began to build up.

The two drivers continued gesturing at each other as the video ended.
Netizens were divided over who was more at fault.
Some criticised the PHV driver for allegedly cutting the queue dangerously and blocking the bus behind.

Others felt the BMW driver should have been more alert, noting that tight lane changes are common near Woodlands Checkpoint.

One user added that the BMW driver should have simply let the matter go instead of storming out of his car to argue.

Netizens also could not resist making jokes about BMW drivers, with one quipping that the driver may have wanted to learn such queue-cutting “skills” from the PHV.
