A bomb threat targeting The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, has been confirmed to be false after no explosives were found on site.
Around 11.31pm on Sunday (13 Sept), the mall management contacted the police and informed them that it had received an email threatening a bomb attack on a business inside the complex.

Following the alert, the Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) of Johor police contingent headquarters was sent to inspect the scene.
The UPB from the South Johor Bahru district police headquarters assisted in the operation, according to Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad’s statement on 14 Sept.
The teams swept the mall’s interior and exterior to ensure the premises were safe.
Officers examined many suspicious objects found during the checks, but none of them contained any explosive materials.

“No bomb threat was detected, and the area has been declared completely safe,” the chief said in a statement.
He reassured the public that police treat all bomb threats seriously, while advising against sharing unverified information that can cause alarm.
