UPDATE (4 Jan): The 48-year-old man, Paul Leslie Quirk has been charged with murder of the woman, Ms Christina Khoo Gek Hwa, according to The Straits Times.
He will undergo psychiatric observation for 3 weeks before being brought back to court on 24 Jan. Neighbours reportedly spotted Quirk walking around holding Ms Khoo’s hands quite often.

Police received a call for assistance at 12.07pm Friday (3 Jan) from a unit at Esparina Residences.
A woman was found unresponsive in the condo unit located near Buangkok MRT, said the police. Another man has since been arrested, reported Channel NewsAsia (CNA).
The 43-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics team, according to CNA.
Investigations are ongoing, but police have classified the case as a murder.
A 48-year-old man was arrested in relation to the case. Preliminary investigations show that “the deceased and the man are known to each other”.
The man will be charged in court on Saturday.
