23-year-old car driver sent to hospital after Yishun accident

A 23-year-old male car driver was sent to the hospital on Wednesday (16 Sept) after being involved in an accident with another car in Yishun.

Footage posted on TikTok showed that one of the cars had rear-ended the other one.

Car badly damaged after Yishun accident

In the clip, said to have been recorded at Yishun Ring Road, the grey car behind was badly damaged, with part of its bumper having become dislodged and its hood folded up.

Its airbags had also been deployed.

Damage was not apparent on the black sport-utility vehicle (SUV) it had crashed into.

Lots of debris from the crash was scattered across the road.

Police & ambulance at the scene

At least two police motorcycles were at the scene, as well as the flashing lights of an ambulance.

A Traffic Police officer was seen talking to two men next to the accident vehicles.

As the collision had taken place in the right lane of a two-lane road, traffic was moving slowly as it was forced into one lane.

1 car driver sent to hospital, after assisting investigations

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 8.15pm on 16 Sept.

It took place along Yishun Ring Road in the direction of Yishun Avenue 2, and involved two cars.

A 23-year-old male car driver was sent to the hospital in a conscious state.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that he was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Additionally, a 33-year-old male car driver is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.
