The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) retrieved a deceased person from the waters at Clarke Quay.
In response to an MS News query, the SCDF stated that they received a call for water assistance at around 7.10am on 1 Dec. The incident occurred near 6 Eu Tong Sen Street.
“Upon SCDF’s arrival, a body was seen floating in the water,” the SCDF said.
SCDF rescuers retrieved the body from the Singapore River, where a paramedic pronounced them dead at the scene.
Photos on the Facebook group Complaint Singapore showed police officers standing at Boat Quay, outside Clarke Quay Central shopping mall.
They gathered around a blue police tent presumably covering the deceased’s body.
Another photo by the OP showed a line of five police cars parked nearby.
MS News has reached out to both the police and the OP of the Facebook post for more information.
