Late Thai ER doctor’s family donates her organs

An emergency room (ER) doctor in Thailand is still helping others beyond death, after her family decided to donate her organs.

The Thai Red Cross Society paid tribute to the late Dr Ketchuda Makrod, also known as Dr Ju, in a Facebook post on Tuesday (8 Sept).

Doctor fell ill during hospital duty

Dr Ju was an emergency medicine specialist at Sanam Chai Khet Hospital in Chachoengsao Province.

She fell ill during duty, and her condition quickly worsened, ultimately leading to her passing.

In a Facebook post on 7 Sept, management and staff at Sanam Chai Khet Hospital expressed their condolences to Dr Ju’s family and remembered her good deeds.

“Her dedication and sacrifice towards patients and the hospital have always been evident, and she performed her duty as the best doctor until the very last moment of her life,” the post read.

Family donates five organs

Despite dealing with grief, Dr Ju’s family decided to donate her organs, allowing the doctor to help more patients even after her death.

Dr Ju’s kidneys, eyes, heart valves, skin, and bones were successfully donated and are to benefit many who are waiting for transplants.

“The passing of Dr Chu has caused great sorrow, but at the same time, it has created miracles that have allowed many others to move forward,” the Thai Red Cross Society’s post read.

Dr. Ju will not only be remembered as ‘Ju Ketchuta,’ a lovely daughter, a dear friend, or a dedicated physician, but she will be remembered and celebrated forever as a true ‘giver of new life’.
