A driver uploaded dashcam footage of a dangerous road incident to TikTok last Tuesday (6 Oct).
The video shows a BYD car, allegedly driven by a private-hire vehicle (PHV) driver, abruptly braking in front of the Original Poster (OP) for no apparent reason.
The incident occurred just as both vehicles approached Exit 4 on the Kranji Expressway, heading towards Choa Chu Kang.

According to the OP, a public bus was driving behind him, making it difficult and dangerous to brake in time to avoid the BYD.

However, as the OP tried to drive safely, the BYD driver continued with the dangerous driving.
The video shows the BYD driver brake-checking multiple times as both cars went along the slip road.
There were no other vehicles ahead of the BYD. As the OP passed by, the BYD driver allegedly even gave him a rude gesture.
The OP tried to pull next to the BYD to confront the driver at the intersection. However, the BYD driver chose to stop behind the OP’s car instead.
By chance, both drivers continued travelling in the same direction for a few more minutes, eventually allowing the OP to pull alongside the BYD and speak to the driver.

The OP then realised that the BYD driver had a female passenger, suggesting that they may have been working as a PHV driver.
According to the OP, the female passenger was “clearly scared”.
Seeing this, the OP decided not to pursue the BYD anymore, especially as the driver continued to ignore him.
Multiple commenters on the post shared that they also had similar unpleasant experiences when taking PHVs.
