Two drivers have been detained for allegedly acting as “marshals” and stopping traffic to allow a luxury car convoy to pass through a roundabout in Johor.
Iskandar Puteri deputy police chief Supt Saifullah Jaya @ Yahaya said the two men, aged 54 and 65, were arrested on Saturday (15 Aug) by the district Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division.
Police began investigating after a video of the incident went viral on Threads at about 6.16pm on 14 Aug.
The footage showed two drivers allegedly obstructing traffic at Bulatan Lebuh Kota Iskandar to make way for a supercar convoy.

Following a public complaint, police launched an operation to identify those involved.
Investigations found that the convoy was travelling from Puteri Harbour towards Johor Bahru city centre, while the two drivers allegedly stopped other vehicles to allow the convoy through, according to Supt Saifullah.
The case is being investigated under Section 110 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for obstruction and interference offences.
Those convicted can face a fine of up to RM1,000 (around S$313).
Police also issued four summonses for various vehicle-related offences and seized the vehicles involved for further action.
Supt Saifullah reminded the public that police would not tolerate unauthorised convoy escorts that block roads or stop other motorists without approval.
He added that such actions could endanger both the individuals involved and other road users.
