Chinese actor Dylan Wang, 27, was recently targeted by online rumours claiming that he suffered serious complications after undergoing a penile enlargement procedure.
His studio has denied the allegations, saying that false chat records involving Wang had been fabricated and circulated online.

It has since filed a police report and appointed lawyers to pursue those responsible for creating and spreading the claims.
Rumours reportedly began circulating on 16 Sept claiming that a “famous male star” had undergone penile enlargement surgery in Shanghai the previous month.
The rumour alleged that a doctor accidentally injected hyaluronic acid into a blood vessel during the procedure, resulting in an embolism and tissue necrosis.
Purported screenshots of chat conversations relating to the alleged incident were also circulated online.
While the initial claims did not name the celebrity involved, entertainment blogger Rong Er Juan later linked the rumours to Wang and allegedly created a vulgar negative topic tag about him.

The tag quickly spread online, prompting further speculation about Wang.
Wang’s studio responded on Weibo later that day, saying some online users had “maliciously fabricated false chat logs” targeting the actor and spread them through private channels and social media.
It said the claims were intended to smear and defame Wang, severely damaging his reputation and causing a harmful impact online. The post was geotagged at Beijing’s Gaobeidian Police Station.

The studio said it had completed the notarisation and collection of evidence that day and reported the matter to the public security authorities as soon as possible.
It added that a legal team had been appointed to handle the case, stating:
We will hold those who create and spread rumours accountable according to the law to resolutely protect Mr Dylan Wang’s legitimate rights and interests.
The studio also stressed that the internet is “not a lawless space” and urged netizens not to carelessly spread unverified information.
It called on users to behave rationally online and help maintain a clean and healthy online environment.
Chingho Medical, which had been linked to the alleged procedure online, also issued a statement denying any involvement.
The clinic said the person referred to in the online rumours had not received treatment there and had no doctor-patient relationship with the institution.

It added that it does not perform the procedure mentioned in the rumours and had no related treatment or procedural records.
“The online claims that attribute or associate the incident with our institution and medical staff are all untrue,” the clinic said.
It has since preserved evidence of the allegedly false information and said it reserves the right to take legal action against individuals or organisations that fabricated or spread it.
Rong Er Juan subsequently issued a public apology on Weibo, admitting that she had reposted the information without verifying it.
She said she first came across the screenshots in a WeChat group and had “followed the crowd” in sharing them without checking whether the claims were true.
The blogger described herself as a secondary disseminator and acknowledged that she had no first-hand knowledge or substantive evidence supporting the allegations.
She also apologised for creating a negative topic tag about Wang, saying it resulted from “operational negligence” and her unfamiliarity with the platform’s rules.
She maintained that she had not intended to smear, defame, or fabricate rumours about the actor.
Rong Er Juan said she had deleted all related posts, acknowledged the seriousness of spreading unverified private information, and promised not to share similar claims about celebrities in future.
She also apologised to Wang and his fans.
Weibo later said it had muted Rong Er Juan’s account and revoked her recent earnings after determining that she had published and spread unverified information about a celebrity, which subsequently circulated both on and off the platform.
